thanks to all of our friends that came out to see us in miamisburg last week-end for the spring-fling.  the crafty mommas sold some things but not enough.  if anyone sees anything that they think they might like please let us know.  also if anyone knows of a venue that our products would do well in  let us know.

Refinishing a bench

My friend, Amy, introduced me to the Springfield Extravaganze flea market last spring. I guess it comes around twice a year, spring and fall. We feed off each other when it comes to buying trash to turn it into treasure. She got a library bench(I think that is what it's called) at a garage sale and made it a beauty) so I told her we had to find one for me too! We found one at the flea market - priced at $47 and she took $30(not too bad) I painted it, got new foam and fabric for the cushion and I am loving it in the foyer. While I was at it, I painted my coat tree - it was a honey oak color and the black just makes it feel a bit more current! Fun fun! We also got 2 more friends addicted to this - Tara and Jill, aren't you happy we introduced you to this? I even drove Kirk's old red truck(which I think has been deemed "big red" to haul our treasures away in and boy, did it come in handy!)

I have seen many versions of this on blogs before so I decided to get out the cricut and try it myself – didn’t like it when I first put it up but it has grown on me – just adds a little charm to the door!

burlap and twine jars

the girls bathroom has been driving me crazy. no matter what i do it is always trashed. so i came up with this:

so much better. i made the jars out of old pickle jars , burlap and twine. i am hoping that these will help control some of the mess. very easy to do. i attached everything with the trusty hot glue gun.

so do you think i should modge-podge fabric to the top of this table? i am very happy with the way it turned out. one minute i think it needs fabric and the next not. it holds one of the laptops perfect on the bottom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

this is the perfect home for our “new” hamster buddy. bibble  never turned up.  we have no idea where he is.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

my pretty little tray from the goodwill store.  i have been messing around with a weathered crackle finish on it. i love when you only pay a $1.00 for something it makes okay to experiment with it.

Ikea Love

Went to Ikea on Sunday with the other crafty momma-dangerous with 2 heads thinking as one - we both helped each other drop some $! Anyhow, found some really fun things below!

These are some tealight candle holders - who knew, they even sell jumbo tea lights for the bigger one - fun! My kids love to eat dinner with candles - I think they just really like to blow them out afterwards but anytime we sit down as a family, we usually light candles.


Ikea has some really fun and unique fabric! At $5.99-$8.99/yd and some is upholstery weight- you can't beat it! I was looking at fabric debating whether to buy it to stretch over canvases and then saw that they carry wood frames right by the fabric for $4.99 - it is a set of 4 pieces of wood packaged together and it comes with everything to screw them together and then I wrapped my fabric around and used my staple gun -much quicker than using the little finishing nails they included. LOVE them! Love the fabric - had extra so I stapled them to the back of the frame in the other picture of the shelf. This 5 1/2 ft long wall art all for $30! Frames are 19 1/4 X 19 1/4.



This is a great gift my good friend, Suzy, got me for Christmas, tulip bulbs wrapped all pretty in a pot with instructions to keep them in a cold dark place until the 1st week of Feb and then bring them in and force-bloom them - How pretty when I keep seeing cold, dreary weather outside. You can see just next to them the little glass tealight holders - 50 Cents each at Ikea and if you flip them over, they are candlestick holders!(and her flower pot was from Ikea too!)

Look at this cool thin magnetic board- comes in white, silver and orange(of all colors!) It was $12.99 and I had this ugly phone jack to hide so I just put that up there and look and how clean and black my fridge is now! except for the fingerprints!
